Customers will be given gloves if they wish to look through books.
Before treatment we provide extra sanitiser for staff and clients.
We are following government guidelines on track and trace to protect you, your friends & associates.
We are providing a plastic bag for our customers’ belongings.
We will provide clean face masks for our staff and customers or visors where masks can’t be worn.
Our piercing and tattoo stations are cleaned before and after every customer.
Customers are asked to sanitise hands before and after using the toilets.
We’re not allowing the consumption of food or drink on the premises.
Piercings will be done behind a screen if the tattooist is working.
We have also employed a rigorous cleaning regime where commonly touched areas like handrails, door knobs and toilets are regularly cleaned with cleaning fluids known to be anti viral.
As you can see, we’re taking our responsibilities seriously. I do hope that our efforts have eased any concerns you may have about visiting.

As you may know the government gave the go ahead for tattoo shops to re-open from the 13th of July. What a relief that was!
The worrying thing is that doing a quick google search shows 10 out of top 16 tattoo shops in and around Soho still haven’t re-opened their doors for business ten days later! Black Garden Tattoo , Diamond Jacks Tattoo Parlour , Tattoo Shop By Dan Gold , Wildfire Tattoo Collective , One by one , Bananajims , 33 Marshall Street , Tattoo concept store , Natasha Rachel Tattoos and Evaldas Gulbinas all marked as temporarily closed still!
It’s true to say some may not have updated their google profile but it’s unlikely that applies to a significant number. If you are reading this and know for a fact that some are incorrectly marked as closed, please let the tattoo shop know, it could potentially be damaging their business further.
Maybe some have a different re-opening strategy but undoubtedly , and of course sadly , some won’t be re-opening at all.
This week we cover the most common body piercings we do namely the nipple piercing, surface piercing, micro dermal piercing,stretching, flesh tunnels and belly button piercing aka navel piercing.
Nipple piercings are one of the hottest piercings anyone can get. They look good on men and women alike.
Nipples can be pierced in many different ways, but horizontally is the most popular. They can also be done vertically and diagonally though, and look equally awesome. Plus, if you’re into a more ‘extreme’ look, you can have multiple piercings through the same nipple.
The length of a nipple bar really depends on the individual needs and the design of the jewellery. Someone with smaller nipples might prefer a 12 mm long bar, while someone with bigger nipples may prefer 16 mm, or even 19 mm.
We only pierce nipples with 1.6 jewellery. Most nipple piercings here are pierced only using barbells. You can change to ring once the piercing has healed.
The surface piercing pierces flat areas of the body, like the chest or upper cheek. While other piercing types typically feature an entrance hole and an exit hole that’s usually directly behind the entrance hole, surface piercings feature entrance and exit holes next to each other on top of the skin.
Located in various places around the body, piercers perform surface piercings on the less ‘fleshy’ areas of the body. These locations are alternative options and will make a welcome change from some of the more common piercing options.
Surface piercings include nape/neck piercing, collarbone piercing, hip piercing, wrist piercing, surface tragus and also anti eyebrow piercings.
Surface piercings are usually pierced with a staple bar which the corners of the staple anchor the barbell into the skin to reduce rejection.
For our surface piercings we use 1.2 and 1.6 barbells depending on the position of the piercing.
A dermal piercing, also known as a microdermal piercing or a single-point piercing, is a piercing that lies on any flat surface of the body and is held in place with a dermal anchor that is installed underneath the skin. Ordinary body piercings have entry and exit points for the jewelry, but, in a dermal piercing, the jewelry sits on the surface and is secured with an anchor that is embedded in the dermal layer (underneath the flesh). This gives the appearance of having small beads on the surface of the skin.
This type of surface piercing is popular nowadays because it can be placed on almost any flat surface of the body, which allows you to decorate areas that are difficult to pierce with regular piercings.
Microdermal piercings are more commonly performed using a dermal punch because the punch is less painful. It is also safer than a needle because it has a protective mechanism that prevents the piercing from going too deep into the skin.
There are many different methods of stretching, but they all work toward the same result: increasing the size of your hole. The key to stretching is time. The slower you stretch, the easier and more comfortable it will be, and the further you will be able to go.
With many soft tissue piercings such as the earlobe there should be little to no discomfort with proper stretching. Some more
sensitive piercings such as the nostril, lip, cartilage, nipple or genital area may be uncomfortable even when stretched properly. Discomfort should never be severe with any stretching, piercings should never bleed or appear torn when stretched. This is a sign of overstretching.
We advise stretching no more than 1mm at a time to ensure your piercing heals well around the jewellery before the next stretch.
Stretching advice will vary based on the person’s anatomy, current health of the piercing, chosen jewellery, and goal size.
In this post we’ll cover the most common types of facial piercings, namely the vertical eyebrow piercing aka the eyebrow piercing, horizontal eyebrow piercing , anti eyebrow piercing and the cheek piercing also known as dimple piercing. Eyebrow piercings aka vertical eyebrow piercings are one of those things that seem to slip seamlessly in and out of style. It’s a strangely timeless piercing. Popular among both men and women, the eyebrow piercing is truly a unisex fashion statement. It can be placed anywhere along the eyebrow, but it’s typically located just past the arch of the eyebrow. We pierce eyebrows with a barbell, if you want a ring, the barbell can be changed to a BCR (ball closure ring) once the piercing has healed.
Horizontal eyebrow piercings are similar to vertical. The key difference, of course, is that they are pierced horizontally. Otherwise, the placement options are the same. Once again, the most common location is towards the outside corner of the eye. The horizontal eyebrow is pierced with a curved barbell.
The anti eyebrow piercing is one that is another unique addition to the body modification look.This piercing is placed just below the skin but not touching any face muscles and bones. Depending on the person’s preference, this kind of piercing can be done vertically or horizontally. It is usually placed on the upper cheek area where your eyebrows must have been placed if our face is upside down.Like the horizontal eyebrow piercing, we pierce the anti eyebrow with a curved barbell.
Cheek piercings are certainly gaining more and more popularity these days. Such piercing can absolutely add more emphasis on your facial features, especially the dimples that are right there on your cheeks. This is the main reason why it is otherwise known as dimple piercing.
The piercing itself is done to left and right cheeks. The illusion of having gorgeous dimples can be created if you have piercings on your cheeks. However, it is very important to make sure that both piercings on the checks are on symmetrical position. If you already have the dimples on you, the piercings will just be easily attached on them. But if you still don’t have them, then the professional piercer will create the dimples of your dream through this piercings.

Almost any jewellery type is suitable for a nostril piercing as it is a very easy area to get pierced, making it such a popular choice among body modifiers.
Nostril piercings can be pierced with a stud or a ring.
The Septum Piercing is a piercing that is done through the nasal septum, this is the piece of your nose that separates the left and right nostril. Piercers are aiming for the “sweet spot” this is the thin piece of skin that sits at the front of your nose, past the thick cartilage. It is technically called the “columella”. Some people do not have a columella making the piercing difficult to perform. After finding the sweet spot your piercer will work on finding the correct placement, everyone has a different anatomy, so the placement is going to vary from person to person.
When piercing a septum we mostly use a circular barbell (horseshoe).
The lip piercing is a piercing worn both by men and women, this is not surprising since there are so many ways to wear a lip piercing. In fact there are endless options in and around the mouth for a decorative piercing. Some additional information about the most common types of lip piercings won’t hurt! All lip piercings will need to be pierced with a longer Labret bar to begin with due to swelling and that initial bar will be change for a smaller Labret bar 2-3 weeks after it has been pierced.
Most lip piercings can take between 8-12 weeks to fully heal.

Snake Bite piercings are two lower lip piercings evenly separated on each side of the lip’s center. Typically, they’re fitted with two BCR’s or Segment rings which encircle the lower lip, but they can also be fitted with Labret bars if you prefer.

A spider bites piercing is actually two separate piercings that are placed near each other off to one side of the lower lip area. They draw their name by their close proximity to each other – the placement resembles a spider bite.
The spots for the spider bites piercing will be marked to get the measurements exactly right. You don’t want the fang marks too far apart or too close together. It may seem like a small detail, but it can completely screw up the look of your piercing if the distance isn’t right.

Medusa or Philtrum piercing is above the upper lip. It is centered on the groove under the nasal septum. Namely because of this small groove, the piercing is called “philtrum”. It often goes with septum or nose ring piercing. Also could be named cupid’s bow piercing.

A Monroe piercing is a lip piercing placed off-center, above the upper lip on the left-hand side and is meant to resemble Marilyn Monroe’s beauty spot, although Monroe’s beauty spot was on her cheek, not her lip. The madonna piercing is similar but worn on the right-hand side.

A Smiley piercing goes through your frenulum, the small piece of skin connecting your upper lip to your upper gum. This piercing is relatively invisible until you smile — hence the name “smiley piercing.”

Daith piercing and migraines. A daith piercing attempts to replicate acupuncture and may reduce the symptoms of a migraine. Daith piercing has recently grown in popularity as a potential treatment for migraines. This type of body piercing involves the piercing of the innermost cartilage fold of the ear.
The average healing time for tragus piercing has been observed to be around 3 to 6 months. It all depends on the aftercare methods followed and how much care you take of your new piercing.
The snug takes around 6-12 months to heal fully, and jewellery can usually be changed after 3 months.
